Our wedding in Santa Maria will forever remain in our hearts as the most wonderful day of our lives. Before our big day Julie and her beautiful assistants, Emilie and Tash, made sure that us and our guests were happy and well looked after. Every single detail before the wedding and on the day had been lovingly organised to perfection by Julie. The Garden Riviera was the perfect hotel for us and all our guests in the lead up to the wedding. The staff are friendly, the pool is relaxing and the rooms are perfect with stunning views from the balconies. From the first evening in town myself and my new husband felt like celebrities, Julie introduced us to everyone she knew and they showered us with love and good luck for the wedding. The first time I saw Torre Perrotti where we would take our vows I promptly started to cry, it was everything I dreamed of, so romantic, the perfect setting. The days leading up to the wedding were a dream, eating amazing food, lazing by the beach, and even a lovely boat trip. But for us the wedding really began the night before when we took all our guests to Mocaria restaurant on the beautiful hilltop of Castellabate which Julie arranged for us. Aside from breath-taking views of Santa Maria the restaurant was amazing. Beautifully furnished, delicious food, and Tonino the owner… well he was the kindest, sweetest man ever. I felt like we had come home to old friends, an unforgettable evening full of love and laughter especially when we delivered some speeches and gifts to our beautiful family and friends. Julie even managed to be sneaky and get all our guests to write on love hearts which she would attach to a little tree the next evening.
The next day was our wedding… where do I start? Having checked into 1861 the day before I woke that morning to the sound of the ocean outside my balcony. Breakfast on the seafront with my bridesmaid Debbie was everything I needed to feel relaxed and ready for the amazing day that lay ahead of me. Julie delivered my dress early that morning as I was having coffee with all the lovely ladies downstairs, she was just as excited as I was and bouncing with joy for our special day. Meanwhile Julie had arranged for the boys to all have traditional razor shaves in town, they had a wonderful time. After coffees I began to get ready with my bridesmaid Sarah, we had to get our hair done! Anna, the local hairdresser, is fantastic. As I had never met her before coming to Italy this was one detail I was nervous of.. but after the trial a few days before I knew she was the best. Anna did not let me down, she made me look and feel like a Princess, I was blown away.
Once my hair and make-up was completed Neil, our photographer from the UK recommended to us by Julie, came to my room to take photos before I put on my wedding dress. Neil made me feel like the Princess Anna had made me, he made me feel beautiful and helped me relax so he could take some natural shots before I became a Mrs! He was the best photographer we could have asked for, the whole day he was professional, patient, kind and funny, a true gentleman. Then the flowers arrived, so beautiful, I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Once myself and my bridal party were all dressed and ready to go I was being ushered out of my room and down the big winding stairs of the hotel. When I saw our mandolin and guitar players I was beside myself with joy… the music was just perfect for my walk to the alter. Once at the top of the Torre Perrotti and I saw my future husband I felt like I floated towards him, the setting was perfect. So beautiful. My flower arch was stunning, I felt like the luckiest girl alive being married in such a wonderful place with the man I loved. Julie hadn’t exaggerated the beauty of this amazing wedding venue. Floating down the aisle to Ave Maria being sung by our Mandolin and Guitar player will stay in my memory forever.
The food and drink at the Torre was amazing too, or so im told as I was too excited to have anything except for water! Even at 5pm the sun was still hot, but it was perfect anyway. After signing our certificates at the town hall and a quick card game in town with the locals we were whisked away for photos down beautiful little alleyways in this amazing little fishing village. When we arrived at the cocktail bar Le Gatte we were excited to see everyone enjoying cocktails and more snacks and enjoying the sun beginning to set over the water, another perfect location to unwind before the evening reception. My new husband and his brother, the best man, added some drama and excitement by being the first to “Trash the Suits” in Santa Maria, we even pulled a crowd from the locals who thought it was fantastic! So much fun! Once they were all dried off and we had some photos on the beach we headed to the Lido for our evening reception… well what can I say? Rosanna and Julie had done a fantastic job, the table was beautifully decorated, so soft and romantic and perfect.
Twinkly candles in the dusky evening light was lovely. Our BBQ food was delicious, everyone tucked in and thoroughly enjoyed it. But the memory that will really stay with us was the perfectly timed fireworks that we had managed to keep secret from everyone, these started to go off just before we finished our first dance… we ran hand in hand to the front of the Lido and watched in amazement at how fantastic the fireworks were! We decided to spend the highest amount on these, and we were not disappointed, our guests loved it! We set the sea on fire! Once again we pulled in a local crowd! Finally… the band, another element I was slightly worried about because I had never heard them… they were unbelievably good! After our beautiful friend danced for us and got everybody up on the dance floor the band played some classic and current songs that everybody knew and were fantastic!
One of our favourite memories of that night will be singing along to “Wonderwall” with all of our friends and dancing the night away. The band had to deal with our constant chants of “one more song” every time they tried to finish because we didn’t want them to stop! They were a massive hit. All in all the day and the whole week was absolutely wonderful, there are not enough words to describe how happy we were and how eternally grateful we are to Julie for giving us such a perfect wedding to cherish forever. We love you Julie and thank you, Emilie, and Tash for everything you did for us. Lots of love The Stallions xxx
I hope that’s ok Julie and I hope it communicates well enough to you everything I feel in my heart.
There will always be an ear for you to talk to and a home in London for you if you ever need anything.
Lots of love, Amira xxx
