Myself and Adrian can only hope that these few words can express how thankful we are to all those who made our very special day just that. Thank you so much Julie for making our time in Santa Maria and our wedding day in particular an amazing success and for providing us a perfect day which we will never forget. Without you it wouldn’t have been possible. We had both decided on a destination wedding, but just couldn’t find the right place that suited us. A friend had been to Santa Maria di Castellabate for a wedding the previous year and just couldn’t speak highly enough of her enjoyment of the area, the food and drink and the local people. We came across Julies website ‘My Secret Italy’ and were very impressed by the testimonials and feedback by past couples. We were fortunate to meet up with Julie in Dublin not long into our search and straight away we knew we had both a brilliant destination and wedding planner! With Julies experience, knowledge of the area and being fluent in Italian we knew we couldn’t go wrong.
From the moment we arrived we were treated so well and felt so welcome. Santa maria is such a charming, beautiful little village. The locals, (of which Julie knows all by name!), are really warm and inviting and made us really feel at ease when we arrived. A huge thanks to Emy and the staff at the Garden Riviera hotel for their amazing hospitality, for their cocktail and prosecco reception to helping us wash the wedding car on the day! We are so grateful to Julie for introducing to us Nisha Ravji, our photographer. Nishas’ work speaks volumes for itself and she is such a genuine person. We feel so blessed to have had her as our photographer. The pictures are absolutely stunning! There were so many others who need mentioning, as without them it wouldn’t have worked. A huge thanks to Julie’s daughter Emily for all her help throughout the week and on the wedding day. A special thanks has to be mentioned to Domenico and his staff for the bus transfers, not only on the day, but before and after the wedding. He is so punctual and professional in what he does, we knew everyone would be looked after and arrive on time. A big thanks to Anna for a wonderful job on the hairstyles. Thanks also to Anna-Maria for designing and creating our beautiful wedding cake. A special thanks also to Veronica for providing the fabulous flowers for the church, the venue, bouquets, corsages and button holes.
To the wedding day itself; it was so well organised, relaxing and very enjoyable! It all went very smoothly and all this is down to Julie and her team around her. The church and village of Castellabate is absolutely stunning. The view overlooking Santa Maria is spectacular. The ceremony was beautifully celebrated by Father Bong and Don Pepino with the stunning church music provided by Diego, the tenor and string quartet. After the ceremony we had aperitif at the Piazetta in Castellabate. The food and service was amazing. It was such a great idea, it was so nice just to relax and take in the amazing vista from the square. One of the highlights (and there were many!) were the guitarist and mandolin players who sung, serenaded and entertained the group to no end. They are great characters and equally great musicians. They were a great addition to the day, they are a must!!
The celebrations had truly begun and the next stop was down to the beach front in Santa Maria to devour the delicious ice creams and more canapes from Baffo and all at Perbacco. As mentioned earlier about the warmth of the locals, everywhere we walked we were greeted with auguri (best wishes). The national beach football competition was being played out on the beach and in true Italian style we were introduced to the whole crowd! The reception and warmth we received will last with us the rest of our lives.
We chose the Lido Azzurro restaurant for our reception for its location and for its food reviews, and we weren’t disappointed! The sun setting was an unreal back drop to our celebrations. The food and service were superb. Rosanna and all the staff at the Lido did an outstanding job. The music was provided by Luigi, along with Antonio, Peppe and Armando. They are a talented and gifted group, who were a huge hit with the wedding party. To cap off a perfect day, the aquatic fireworks were set off to an amazement to all. They were the ideal way to finish off a remarkable day.
Thank you Julie from the bottom of hearts for helping us every step of the way. You think of everything and it is these small details that help the day plan out so well. We were well and truly a very relaxed couple. Your dedication and professionalism in your work reflects on the great amount of very happy brides and grooms! We will hold Santa Maria very close to our hearts as it is a very special place indeed. Thank you for making that happen. We hope to see you very soon.
